ICR Hosts Promotion of Reflexology Internationally /Local Efforts in NYC

REFLEXOLOGY IS NEEDED MORE THAN EVER!!!

⇉Reflexologists from around the world

Hosted by ICR International Council of Reflexologists with reflexologists from around the globe in many languages:
2020 World Reflexology Week events on zoom
will take place from September 21-25.
- These events are open to reflexologists and the general public.
- I personally am excited to moderate the German language presentations on September 25, 2020 with
Helga Dittmann: Chronic Stress Relief with Foot and Hand Reflexology
Stefanie Sabounchian: Strengthening the Immune System with Ear Reflexology

Here is the link to schedule for the weeklong presentations,  languages, and registration:

https://icr-reflexology.org/2020-wrw/

⇉Locally in New York City

⇉It all began in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1999 with a proclamation of the Governor of Hawaii (see document).  Bill Flocco, one of the Founders of ICR is credited with WRW.

⇉As for myself
I came to reflexology via interest in my feet/health as a yogi.  It was for self care initially, but is now work, too.  Both are too much needed to not share and educate about them.

Happy World Reflexology Week,
If you are interested in Reflexology/Yoga (mostly Chair Yoga), with a trauma-informed practitioner, feel free to contact me.  I hope to be back in the studio at the end of October but am available online with
⇉facilitation and
⇉remote sessions
⇉ offering samples of 10 minutes  reflexology sessions in honor of WRW 2020 throughout October (feet, hands, face, ears).

Best wishes to All of Us during this difficult time with layering crises,

Birgit

Taipei Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan: "Is this a Rock in Your Luggage?"

the rock in my luggage (jade)
Well, the “rock" the security guard was wondering about (see title) was an award, polished jade on a wooden plinth.  After a second of wondering and being a bit worried, what he could possibly mean I remembered and told him that it was "my Humanitarian Award."  "Ah," he said.  And that was it for him.  But I can hardly put into words what it means to me; it most certainly has helped to strengthen  me in many ways and it is part of its properties (see below).

Awards in form of objects with balancing properties for those who help others to rebalance makes so much sense.

Dien Cham Calmed Overly Excited Puppy almost Immediately

I was spending time at the Taitung train station on October 25, waiting for the train to Taipei after Gina Stewart's RVP Program that followed the International Reflexology Conference hosted by the ICR and Father Josef (aka Father Hu) and his Taiwanese team.

I noticed a young friendly male dog.  He was very playful; actually he was too too playful and excited.  A young woman fed him white bread after she noticed that he was bothering someone who had food.  He ate some of it.

He was adorable and I played with him, too, but he jumped up and started tearing on my clothes.  I was a bit worried about this getting out of control, but somehow I forgot all about the One_Minute Facial Reflexology for Dogs. I had not had an encounter like this, and I had only given sessions to dogs that seemed calm to protect myself.

Stone Foot Path Coach and Regal's Achilles Tendons

Back in Taipei (after the ICR Conference and Gina Stewart’s RVP at Garden of Hope in Taitung) Regal took me to a park he had explored previously.
The Reflexology path (stone foot path) there was different from the ones I had seen before.  It entailed three benches on the path itself and  one texture only, and there was a map of the feet’s reflexes with labeling in Chinese characters and in English.

We had such a good time; I walked back and forth twice slowly, enjoying every step, aware that it would be the last time.  When I was about to leave I found myself "coaching" Sharon (see photo below).  She said she did not learn how to do this.

Vienna, Austria: Integrative Care for Refugee Crisis-Impacted Population

At a Red Cross-run Facility

May 2016 be a good year for you whatever the circumstances may be!
May there be peace in 2016!
Imagine (John Lennon).

Refugee Crisis It is certain that none of us will ever forget the coverage of streams of refugees making their ways from South to North, East to West, and I imagine there may be refugees in most European countries at this point.
Many along the way have lost their lives, including children.
