Some Feedback (Reflexology)

“Re: My reflexology was like walking on air, on my way home.”

Please, note reflexology in this case meant about 25 minutes of hands-on work; the recipient opted for foot reflexology and some hand reflexology.

Feedback is always appreciated.  Thank you!
As practitioner I learn from every participant.  (My work is trauma-sensitive and the person who seeks me out is a participant rather than a client; please, note, everybody can benefit from trauma-sensitive service).
Thank you for your visit as always,

B.

Counter Balancing Toxicity - Tips for Every Day

I heard this one recent morning on NPR.
Toxic is the word of the Year 2018; I am not sure about the context (was it related to the environment or politics?), however as far as wellness is concerned, STRESS if it becomes chronic leads to toxicity.

 - Here are some ideas for the remainder of the holidays (I put this together a few years ago and shared it on my FB channel) to keep stress and thus toxicity down the road at bay- self care for stress.

- Of course, these ideas can also be used as New Year's Resolution(s).  Baby steps work better for many than big leaps.  It is easier to incorporate baby steps into our often so very busy lives to introduce more balance, better quality of life (QoL).

Double Handed no Pressure Hand Reflexology

A few weeks ago, waiting for dinner to arrive at one of our favorite Middle Eastern restaurants, Regal received a hand reflexology session from me.

On the way there I told him about an upcoming event and wanted to show him something and get feedback.  It also can not hurt to rebalance the body to prepare for dinner.

He was game for the following which was new to him:
- double handed hand reflexology, meaning I was working mostly on both hands at the same time (mostly it's one hand at a time) aside from doing some relaxation techniques.
- no pressure at all hand reflexology (often it's either gentle, medium, deep pressure).  I personally do not use deep pressure.

9/11 Part One: Supporting 9/11 First Responders and Families

Reflexology at the bottom

It seems so fresh and yet so far away, 9/11, that is.

Reflexology was offered via CRREW (many thanks to CRREW) at the annual Voices of 9/11 event at Downtown Marriott very close to the 9/11 Memorial.

I did this event once before and have worked in many communal settings.  The reflexology community I am part of (NYSRA) also did 3 fund raisers to benefit STWS (I have mentioned them in previous posts) which has been supporting the 9/11 community with holistic services.

My wonderful colleague Carol Schwartz who was also part of the 3 fundraisers in 2011 and I offered:

·      Foot reflexology
·      Hand reflexology

Vienna, Austria: Integrative Care for Refugee Crisis-Impacted Population

At a Red Cross-run Facility

May 2016 be a good year for you whatever the circumstances may be!
May there be peace in 2016!
Imagine (John Lennon).

Refugee Crisis It is certain that none of us will ever forget the coverage of streams of refugees making their ways from South to North, East to West, and I imagine there may be refugees in most European countries at this point.
Many along the way have lost their lives, including children.

Grabbing Surgeon's Arm; MD/Reflexologist Jesus Manzanares Method

Thank God: Unused Antibiotics
Arriving in Boston
Waking up with the rising sun..
I finally decided to undergo oral surgery, namely the extraction of tooth 17 in the very back of the lower left; the decision was made rather spontaneously.   I liked one of the options offered by the oral surgeon I was referred to; previous alternatives just sounded too daunting so I had been postponing a decision.  My initial intention was to save this tooth at all costs but taking the big picture into consideration and what the surgeon suggested made a lot of sense thus I reconsidered, and opted to sacrifice the tooth to improve overall dental function.

While I was sitting in the chair waiting for the surgeon to begin, I did the usual DC Basic Session and some hand reflexology*, in addition to tuning into my breath to be more relaxed.  I even did a light forward bend - the dentist's chair was inviting me to do so:-)  As usual I wanted to go easy on the anesthesia and being as balanced, as relaxed as possible would support this.
